Security Officer

About the role

Cloudera is looking for a Security Officer to manage protective security for its Australia & New Zealand operations. You will ensure compliance with Australian federal and state security regulations and support government and commercial security requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Cloudera A/NZ’s eligibility, applications and ongoing compliance for federal government industry security programs.
• Develop, implement and maintain security policies aligned with Australian protective and information security frameworks.
• Oversee internal security registers, facilitate mandatory staff security awareness training and manage local incident reporting.
• Identify evolving government information security requirements and work with local teams to meet procurement panel prerequisites.
• Act as the central point of contact for leadership on security operations, providing high‑level support for sensitive matters.

Required profile

• Australian citizenship with ability to obtain immediate background clearance.
• Proven experience in protective security governance and compliance, preferably in government, defense or highly regulated tech environments.
• Deep familiarity with Australian government protective security guidelines, information security manuals and risk‑management frameworks.
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to handle highly confidential material with discretion.
