Security Engineer

About the role

The Security Engineer will join PointsBet’s Information Security team to protect our online gaming platforms. You will work closely with senior security leaders and cross‑functional engineering teams to detect, investigate, and remediate security incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, investigate, and remediate security incidents in collaboration with the Senior Security Incident Manager and Senior Security Engineer.
• Coordinate containment actions such as isolating affected systems and blocking malicious IPs or domains.
• Manage and enhance penetration testing and vulnerability management processes.
• Partner with software and Cloud Platform Engineering teams to remediate IaC misconfigurations, API security weaknesses, and cloud‑native design flaws.
• Optimize and integrate security incident management, vulnerability management, and data loss prevention toolsets.
• Communicate technical issues to non‑technical stakeholders and set expectations.
• Review and implement security controls for platforms and advocate for improved patch‑management policies.
• Develop remediation plans to reduce attack surface and contribute to threat‑identification initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience handling security incidents and working with engineering, IT operations, and cloud teams.
• Strong communication skills to convey technical findings to non‑technical audiences.
• Ability to influence, negotiate, and provide security advice across the organization.
