Security Consultant – Data Security

About the role

IBM Consulting is seeking a Security Consultant specialized in Data Security to help clients understand and mitigate data‑related risks. You will work closely with IT and business leaders to improve their security posture and guide them through complex security challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct interviews, workshops and assessments to identify data security issues, risks and vulnerabilities, and provide actionable recommendations.
• Develop data security strategies, programs, incident‑response plans and remediation road‑maps using security principles and maturity models.
• Analyze and resolve security incidents, supporting clients in achieving a superior security posture.
• Collaborate with clients to design and implement data security solutions that align with industry best practices and standards.
• Offer expert guidance on data security matters, helping clients make informed decisions about their security investments.

Required profile

• Familiarity with data security technologies and their implementation across various environments.
• Understanding of data security maturity models and best‑practice frameworks.
• Experience conducting security assessments, interviews and workshops.
• Knowledge of incident‑response processes and remediation planning.
• Ability to apply security principles to define business drivers and develop strategic programs.
