Secondary Teacher (Maths / P.E.) – Special Assistance School

About the role

We are looking for a passionate secondary‑trained teacher to join our special assistance school in Macquarie Fields, NSW, on a full‑time basis. The position primarily supports students who are disengaged or at risk of disengagement, with a preference for teaching Maths and/or Physical Education, though other subjects are welcome.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Stage 5 and Stage 6 curriculum to a diverse cohort of young people.
• Apply trauma‑informed practices to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
• Collaborate with staff to develop learning strategies that empower students to make informed decisions.
• Participate in supervision, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Current registration with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).
• Ability to work with marginalised youth and understanding of child‑safe organisational principles.
• Respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and culturally diverse backgrounds.
• Experience in trauma‑informed settings is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with G‑Suite.
• Experience using Google Classroom (desired but not essential).
