Secondary Mathematics Teacher (Methods & Specialist)

About the role

Marymount College in Burleigh Waters is seeking an experienced Secondary Mathematics Teacher (Methods & Specialist) to start in 2027 on a full-time continuing basis. The role sits within Brisbane Catholic Education, which employs over 12,000 people across Queensland and delivers education from Prep to Year 12. The college offers a balanced workload with non-contact hours and flexible scheduling.

Key responsibilities

• Create a nurturing, learner-centred learning environment that is supportive, cooperative and aligned with curriculum policies and practices.
• Develop and implement quality curriculum programs and pedagogy, evaluate their effectiveness, assess and report on student progress and learning outcomes to students, parents and the community.
• Work with the leadership team and other staff to contribute to the school's professional life and foster a positive school culture.
• Engage proactively in professional learning to improve student outcomes.
• Build positive pastoral relationships with students and support their spiritual and moral development.
• Ensure the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.

Required profile

• Relevant contemporary skills and experience, including creating a supportive, learner-focused classroom aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
• Expertise in designing and delivering curriculum programs in line with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
• Commitment to engaging with colleagues, students and parents/carers, and a passion for supporting students' spiritual and moral development.
• Candidates do not need to be Catholic.
• Eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
• Currently registered with the Queensland College of Teachers.
