School Bus Driver (Term Time Only)

About the role

Inspired Education, a group of premium private schools, is hiring a permanent Bus Driver for its Reddam House North Shore campus in North Sydney. The role covers the safe, reliable and efficient transport of students, staff and school materials between campuses, along school bus routes and to approved destinations, during term time only, Monday to Friday between 6:30am and 5pm.

Key responsibilities

• Safely transport students and staff on daily routes, excursions, events and other scheduled activities, including occasional evening and weekend work.
• Keep students safe and supervised in transit, upholding duty of care, behaviour management and child safeguarding requirements.
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections and basic maintenance, such as checking fuel, oil, water and tyre pressure, and report mechanical issues promptly.
• Keep the bus clean and presentable, and coordinate registrations, inspections and servicing.
• Move school equipment, materials and correspondence between campuses and locations as needed.
• Comply with road transport legislation, NSW driving regulations, school policies and workplace safety requirements, including the use of PPE where necessary.
• Report incidents, delays or emergencies and maintain professional boundaries with students and families.

Required profile

• Previous experience driving buses, coaches or passenger transport vehicles, ideally in a school environment.
• Current NSW MR Driver Licence, Bus Driver Authority and a strong safe driving record.
• Sound understanding of child safeguarding, student supervision and duty of care.
• Reliable, professional and adaptable team player committed to student safety and wellbeing.

Required skills

• Safe, compliant bus driving with knowledge of road safety, NSW transport regulations and defensive driving.
• Vehicle inspection and basic maintenance checks.
• Organisational and time management skills, including scheduling and vehicle compliance.
• Effective communication with students, parents, staff and leadership.
