Scheduler / Planner

About the role

The Scheduler / Planner will coordinate workforce availability, develop rosters and support operational efficiency across Mackay and the Coalfields region. Working closely with Operations Managers, Supervisors, Recruitment, Payroll and employees, you will be the central point for all workforce planning activities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage workforce rosters and manning schedules.
• Monitor availability, identify labour shortages and arrange labour sharing or subcontractors.
• Release rosters, communicate schedules and confirm site access and training compliance.
• Book accommodation, prepare journey management plans and ensure fatigue‑compliant rosters.
• Process, cost and distribute timesheets for payroll and invoicing.
• Maintain communication with employees, handle workforce queries and coordinate uniforms and onboarding.
• Update training requirements in planning systems and keep accurate employee/sub‑contractor records.
• Provide additional administrative and planning support to the Operations team as needed.

Required profile

• Previous experience in scheduling, planning or workforce coordination.
• Strong safety focus and commitment to compliance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of organisation and attention to detail.
• Current C Class Driver's Licence.
• Strong work ethic with ability to manage competing priorities.
• Desirable: Diploma in Business Administration or related field; experience in mining, construction or industrial services; ability to work independently and within a team.
