SCADA Control Operator

About the role

We are seeking a safety‑focused and technically capable SCADA Operator to join our Seamgas team at Moranbah North Mine. In this critical operational role you will monitor and support the safe operation of the site’s seam gas drainage infrastructure, helping maintain safe underground atmospheric conditions and enable productive mining activities.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor gas extraction, processing, compression and distribution systems through the SCADA network.
• Respond to SCADA alarms, abnormal trends and potential operational threats, escalating issues to appropriate stakeholders.
• Analyse production, equipment performance and availability data and provide alarm and trend data for investigations.
• Support development of SCADA processes, operating standards, procedures and reports.
• Maintain process safety registers and manage isolation lock box procedures.

Required profile

• Experience operating or monitoring SCADA, process control or industrial control systems in mining, gas drainage or similar environments.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret operational data and identify emerging risks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, capable of detailed shift handovers.
• Proactive approach to continuous improvement and equipment reliability.

Required skills

• SCADA systems (especially Citect SCADA).
• Gas drainage infrastructure and gas compression systems.
• Process safety and change management knowledge.
