SAP CAP Developer

About the role

We are looking for an innovative SAP developer passionate about cloud‑native architecture to join our Sydney team. As a permanent SAP CAP Developer you will work on high‑profile enterprise projects, building modern extensions and integrations on the SAP Business Technology Platform.

Key responsibilities

• Build, extend, and deploy custom enterprise applications on SAP BTP using the SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP) with Node.js or Java.
• Design Core Data Services (CDS) models, define database structures, and implement backend business logic and OData/RESTful APIs.
• Integrate SAP BTP services such as SAP HANA Cloud, Destination Service, XSUAA, Connectivity Service, and Event Mesh.
• Collaborate with UI/UX specialists to connect CAP back‑ends with modern front‑ends (SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, React).
• Architect side‑by‑side extensions to keep core S/4HANA or ECC systems clean and performant.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and cloud deployment lifecycles within the SAP BTP environment.

Required profile

• Proven hands‑on experience developing cloud‑native applications with SAP CAP.
• Strong practical knowledge of SAP BTP, Cloud Foundry runtime and core platform services.
• High proficiency in Node.js or Java together with CDS modeling and OData service development.
• Experience with SAP HANA Cloud and relational database concepts.
• Demonstrated ability to build side‑by‑side extensions linking BTP with S/4HANA or third‑party systems via APIs and event‑driven architecture.
