SAP BTP, AI and ABAP Architect

About the role

Libertas is seeking a principal‑level SAP BTP, AI and ABAP Architect to work with leading brands across Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane. You will design and deliver innovative SAP solutions that combine cloud, AI and low‑code platforms to drive business transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Define technical architectures and roadmaps across SAP BTP, AI, integration and application development.
• Design clean‑core‑aligned solutions using extensions, APIs and appropriate integration patterns.
• Assess existing ABAP developments and guide decisions on modernising or migrating functionality to BTP.
• Identify practical AI use cases and translate them into business‑value solutions.
• Provide technical direction, review designs and code, and establish development standards.
• Support pre‑sales activities including discovery workshops, solution proposals and technical presentations.

Required profile

• At least ten years of technical experience in software development, solution architecture and technical leadership, with substantial SAP exposure.
• Proven track record architecting and developing SAP BTP applications for clients.
• Strong client‑facing communication, stakeholder management and pre‑sales skills.
• Experience mentoring developers and ensuring technical quality.

Required skills

• SAP BTP application development, Integration Suite, CAP, Cloud Foundry, HANA Cloud, CDS modelling.
• ABAP development and modern SAP extensibility principles.
• AI Core or generative AI capabilities applied to business solutions.
• JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, Java or Python.
• REST and OData API design.
• Knowledge of GCP, Azure or AWS is valuable.
