Sales Operations Lead

About the role

A group of Queensland and NSW businesses in training, hydraulics and engineering needs a Sales Operations Lead based in Mackay, or willing to move there; Newcastle or Sydney are also considered, with hybrid working negotiable. The role builds and owns the sales system across three businesses and three salespeople: Pipedrive, reporting, pipeline tracking and customer reactivation, while keeping the focus on operations and not on quoting or closing.

Key responsibilities

• Own the Pipedrive setup across all three businesses: structure, automations, workflows and reporting.
• Lock down pipeline data by Friday, prepare a pre-read for Monday and chair the Monday meeting so it runs to a tight agenda.
• Build reporting that the owners use to make decisions, with no follow-up questions needed.
• Track forward capacity (empty classrooms, quiet workshop weeks) and turn it into named actions.
• Build and run sequenced, AI-assisted outreach to reactivate quiet customers, making contact and booking conversations.
• Brief the production agency, chase recordings and schedule and post content as a secondary duty.

Required profile

• Experience owning a CRM and building a commercial operating system from scratch.
• Comfortable chasing three salespeople and a business owner for commitments that were not delivered, and doing it again without softening.
• Ability to work with fast-moving, relationship-driven colleagues and to hold the line, supported by written confirmation of decisions and commitments.
• Not a call-centre voice; confident on the phone with industrial customers such as maintenance planners, supervisors and workshop managers.

Required skills

• Real CRM ownership experience; Pipedrive is ideal, HubSpot or Salesforce acceptable.
• Process-building instinct rather than just repeating tasks.

The role is not remote. After eighteen to twenty-four months, candidates will have built a complete commercial operating system across three businesses and will receive a written reference stating this.
