Sales Business Development – Manufacturing Solutions

About the role

Comtech Industries, an Australian manufacturer of precision thermo‑formed plastics, is looking for a Sales Business Development professional to expand its market presence. Based in Darra, QLD, the role combines on‑site collaboration with regular travel and occasional remote work.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities across target industries, including renewable energy, rail, mining, defence, medical and agricultural equipment.
• Generate leads, conduct market research and qualify prospects to build a robust sales pipeline.
• Prepare proposals, quotations and deliver presentations that align Comtech’s thermoformed and engineered plastic solutions with client needs.
• Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers, coordinating with engineering and production teams to ensure feasible solutions.
• Provide regular sales forecasts, performance reports and monitor market trends and competitor activity.
• Represent the company at industry events and actively network with key decision‑makers.

Required profile

• Proven sales or business development experience, preferably within manufacturing or engineering sectors.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret market data and develop targeted sales strategies.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills for building and maintaining client relationships.
• Demonstrated lead‑generation and market‑research capabilities.
