Safety, People & Site Coordinator – Food & Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

About the role

An expanding food and pharmaceutical manufacturer in Melbourne is looking for a proactive, people-focused Safety, People & Site Coordinator to be the go-to person at the site. Working closely with the Site Manager and supported by the People & Culture team, the role combines workplace safety, people and culture, facilities management, training coordination and operational support. The current team size is 20 and the business expects to double it over the next 12 months.

Key responsibilities

• Lead WHS initiatives, inspections, risk assessments and incident management, and coordinate return-to-work and injury management programs
• Deliver inductions, toolbox talks and safety awareness programs, and support audits, compliance and emergency preparedness
• Coordinate onboarding, inductions and compliance requirements, and support recruitment and employee administration
• Maintain HR records, training matrices and employee documentation, and assist with wellbeing and engagement initiatives
• Manage contractors, maintenance providers and essential services, and coordinate waste, cleaning, pest control, utilities and site upkeep
• Maintain shared spaces, workplace amenities and site consumables, and support GMP, safety and compliance training and training records
• Support SOPs, work instructions and quality documentation, and help production, warehouse, engineering, quality and supply chain teams

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety
• Experience in WHS coordination within manufacturing, food, pharmaceutical or similar environments
• Ability to balance safety, people and operational responsibilities, and to handle confidential information professionally
