Safety Compliance Specialist - USDS

About the role

The Safety Compliance Specialist joins the Safety Regulatory Compliance Operations team within the Trust and Safety organization. Working under the USDS joint‑venture framework, you will help ensure that user‑generated content complies with U.S. local, state, and federal regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct high‑volume, high‑accuracy reviews of images, video, and text to verify compliance with U.S. legal mandates and safety standards.
• Interpret internal safety policies and external legislative requirements, applying them to real‑world content scenarios.
• Draft clear, legally sound justifications for compliance actions for internal audits and regulatory inquiries.
• Monitor emerging social‑media legislation, such as state data‑privacy acts and child‑safety laws, and adjust review criteria accordingly.
• Collaborate with Legal, Policy, and Public Relations teams to provide analytical feedback on the impact of safety policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Criminal Justice, Legal Studies, Communications, or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset capable of parsing nuanced content against statutory requirements.
• Exceptional written communication skills for defending complex decisions.
• Ability to work quickly and precisely in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience handling sensitive data in line with USDS security protocols.

Required skills

• Familiarity with social‑media ecosystems and content moderation processes.
