Safety Advisor (FIFO)

About the role

ACCIONA is delivering a landmark infrastructure project at Lumsden Point in Western Australia. The company is seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to join the site team on a FIFO basis, helping to embed a proactive safety culture throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Apply WHS legislation, Duty of Care principles and best practice to reduce risk across all site activities.
• Conduct safety tours, gap audits, compliance audits and documentation reviews.
• Perform risk assessments and monitor leading and lagging safety indicators.
• Investigate incidents, engage stakeholders and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Support Return‑to‑Work and injury‑management processes.
• Deliver toolbox talks and training to promote a strong safety culture.
• Monitor contractor competency and ensure safe work practices.
• Stay alert to emerging risks, including psychosocial hazards, and report safety performance.

Required profile

• 3–5 years HSE experience in civil construction, preferably on projects in the Northwest of WA.
• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (minimum) and a current advanced First Aid certificate.
• Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, safety tours, audits and incident investigations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency with MS Office.
