Safety Advisor - Caroona Feedlot

About the role

JBS Australia is looking for an experienced Safety Advisor to join its Caroona Feedlot team in a full-time position. Reporting to the Feedlot Manager, you will work with site leadership and operational teams to improve workplace health and safety and strengthen a proactive safety culture. You will give practical WHS advice and coaching, ensure compliance with legislation, standards and JBS safety requirements, and oversee the JBS Safety Management System.

Key responsibilities

• Provide practical WHS advice, coaching and support to leaders and employees
• Oversee hazard identification and control, incident investigations, safety inspections, contractor management, emergency preparedness and WHS reporting
• Lead the WHS Committee and promote consultation and communication
• Coach leaders and team members so safety is embedded in everyday operations
• Support employee health and wellbeing initiatives and improve WHS systems and site safety performance

Required profile

• Demonstrated WHS experience and sound knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation
• Confidence giving practical WHS advice and coaching
• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent is desirable
• Experience in an intensive agricultural, feedlot, farming or similar environment is highly regarded
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to build relationships across all levels
• Practical, collaborative approach to safety and continuous improvement
• Ability to work autonomously and adapt to a fast-paced environment
