RTO Manager – Training Operations Lead

About the role

The RTO Manager will lead Thales Ordnance Training Centre (TOTC), a Registered Training Organisation, in delivering high‑quality defence training. You will shape strategic partnerships, drive growth, and ensure compliance while supporting the development of Australia’s defence capability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and inspire multidisciplinary teams, fostering a positive culture and innovation.
• Oversee RTO compliance, reporting and legal adherence to standards such as AQTF and RTO regulations.
• Develop and execute a growth‑focused strategic plan for the RTO.
• Supervise RTO administration, including finances, records and reporting.
• Manage student enrolment processes accurately and timely.
• Design and improve training strategies and materials through quality assurance and innovation.
• Identify growth opportunities, build relationships and promote TOTC training products.
• Explore expansion of training programmes and services.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in an RTO or comparable educational environment.
• Tertiary qualification such as Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or higher.
• Track record of managing multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and innovative training processes.
• Solutions‑oriented mindset for issue identification and compliance resolution.
• Strong organisational, project‑management and administrative abilities with a focus on prioritisation and meeting deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Student Management Systems.
• Familiarity with educational design software.
