Roller Operator – Road Maintenance

About the role

The Roller Operator will safely operate road rollers and support the construction and maintenance of road infrastructure across regional NSW. This permanent, full‑time position involves both independent and team‑based work to deliver planned maintenance outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Operate road rollers and small plant equipment safely on construction and maintenance sites.
• Perform road maintenance activities, manual handling tasks, and Road Worker Grade 3 duties as required.
• Complete pre‑start safety checks, basic plant maintenance, refuelling, fluid checks and maintain required records.
• Follow WHS, environmental and quality procedures to ensure work meets required standards.
• Identify and report hazards, resolve routine issues and escalate complex matters to supervisors.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in road maintenance, civil construction or a Road Worker Grade 3 role; roller operating experience is highly regarded.
• Current Construction Industry White Card.
• Current Australian driver licence (Class C) with at least a provisional P1 licence.
• Willingness to obtain any additional licensing or ticketing required.
• Ability to use literacy and numeracy skills for work records and team communication.
• Commitment to safe work practices, teamwork and quality outcomes.
• Flexibility to work across Narrandera and various regional NSW locations, including weekends and periods away from home.
