Robotic Welder (MIG/GMAW)

About the role

Chandler Macleod is recruiting experienced MIG/GMAW welders to join a manufacturer of high-strength metal components for the defence, maritime and aerospace industries. The role is a permanent full-time position in Netley, Australia, where you will work with robotic GMAW welding cells and learn robotic / 3D welding.

Key responsibilities

• Support the start-up, running and shut-down of robotic GMAW welding cells
• Monitor weld quality
• Complete documentation to a high QA standard

Required profile

• Strong MIG/GMAW welding background
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn robotic welding
• Ability to read engineering drawings and work packs and follow quality procedures
• Understanding of WPS and ability to adjust key variables within procedure
• Experience in quality / process control or leadership exposure focused on documentation
• Australian citizenship
• Preferred: Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering (Fabrication stream) or equivalent trade background

Required skills

• Comfortable using computers for production and QA documentation
• Desirable: offline programming experience, fabrication experience related to robotic equipment or automation, AutoCAD

What we offer

• Permanent full-time role, Monday to Friday day and afternoon shifts with infrequent overtime
• Salary of $90,000 to $125,000 plus superannuation depending on experience
