Resident Support Coordinator

About the role

East Grampians Health Service is seeking a full-time Resident Support Coordinator for its 45-bed residential aged care facility at 70 Lowe Street, Ararat and Willaura. The role develops, implements and coordinates leisure and lifestyle and resident activities under the Montessori Model of Care, and supervises leisure and lifestyle staff including hairdressers so that consumer care needs are met in a timely way. It reports to the Nurse Unit Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day supervision of leisure and lifestyle and hairdressing staff
• Refer any clinical concerns or incidents to the Nurse Unit Manager or in charge nurse to protect consumer health and safety
• Support quality improvement activities and projects
• Coordinate and manage the volunteer workforce
• Assist with applications for aged care grant funding
• Promote consumer aged care activities within and around the local community

Required profile

• Qualification in, or working towards, a Certificate IV in Leisure & Lifestyle or similar
• Sound knowledge of the Montessori Model of Care and its principles
• Experience in supervising or managing staff
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and to act independently within EGHS policies and protocols
