Research Fellow – Pharmacy Practice & Medication Safety

About the role

Macquarie University is seeking a post‑doctoral researcher to lead medication safety and medicines optimisation components of two innovative digital health projects focused on older adults in aged care. The role combines clinical pharmacy expertise with research leadership to develop, evaluate and implement AI‑augmented digital solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical and academic leadership for medication safety within the AiCT‑MED and OneDementiaHub projects.
• Design, conduct and analyse mixed‑methods research to assess digital interventions.
• Engage with aged‑care providers, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to ensure clinical relevance.
• Prepare research publications, reports and grant applications.
• Support clinical validation and implementation research of digital health tools.

Required profile

• Qualified pharmacist with a PhD or equivalent research experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in medication safety, deprescribing and aged‑care pharmacy practice.
• Strong track record of scholarly outputs and experience in mixed‑methods research.
• Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary research teams.
