About the role
The University seeks a motivated Research Associate to contribute to a project focused on navigation for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). The role blends software engineering with AI research in computer vision, navigation and planning.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deploy software for UAV platforms.
- Conduct AI research related to UAV navigation and planning.
- Participate in regular project meetings and deliver research outcomes on schedule.
Required profile
- Degree in computer science, robotics, software engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated AI research expertise relevant to UAVs, robotics and navigation, with publications in top‑tier venues.
- Experience implementing AI research on devices and practical software engineering skills.
- Citizenship of a Five Eyes or NATO member country (subject to approval).

What we offer
- Salary from $89,579 to $108,517 per annum plus 17% superannuation and leave loading.
- Fixed‑term contract until September 2027.
