Reporting Assistant – Laboratory Data & Reporting

About the role
SGS Australia is seeking a Reporting Assistant to join its Energy Minerals laboratory in Newcastle. You will be responsible for collating, reviewing and preparing technical data from coal testing and sample analysis, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of reports to customers.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver accurate laboratory reports within agreed timeframes.
- Maintain customer relationships and manage the customer database.
- Generate, coordinate and distribute project documentation as required.
- Support ad‑hoc projects and production activities.
- Interpret data, perform data entry and manage sample dispatch and receipt.
- Comply with SGS QHSE, HR policies and the Code of Integrity.
Required profile
- Minimum two years experience in coal sampling or testing, preferably in a laboratory setting.
- Experience with database management and ability to meet KPI targets.
- Strong time‑management skills to handle tight deadlines.
- Ability to resolve customer issues promptly.
