Reliability Engineer – Mining Operations

About the role

You will join a diverse team at St Ives Gold Mine to drive operational excellence for the Maintenance and Processing departments. Reporting to the Senior Engineer – Reliability, you will provide reliability engineering support, identify problems, and develop cost‑effective strategies to improve equipment reliability and extend asset life.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate daily with maintenance and operations teams to deliver practical engineering support.
• Develop and maintain fixed‑plant maintenance and reliability strategies to maximise availability and minimise unplanned downtime.
• Lead root‑cause failure investigations and defect elimination for critical plant assets.
• Analyse short‑ and long‑term performance data to spot trends and improvement opportunities.
• Review inspection and maintenance reports, raise work orders in SAP, and address reliability risks.
• Drive reliability improvement initiatives from identification through to implementation.

Required profile

• Proven experience maintaining and improving reliability of gold‑processing assets such as crushers, conveyors, mills and pumps.
• Proficiency with reliability engineering tools including RCM, PMO and root‑cause failure analysis.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities, a proactive mindset and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
