Registered Psychologist - Field Based

About the role

PeopleSense by Altius supports customers and their people after workplace trauma, critical incidents and unexpected events, and is expanding its onsite support and Critical Incident Response (CIR) capability. It is looking for a Registered Psychologist who is calm under pressure, values meaningful work and wants to develop expertise in trauma-informed intervention. The role is not a standard therapy role: it is about being there when it counts, providing immediate psychological support to workplaces following distressing or traumatic events. The workplace is on site.

Key responsibilities

• Provide psychological first aid onsite and via telehealth following critical incidents
• Deliver individual and group support focused on stabilisation and recovery
• Give practical guidance to managers navigating complex workplace situations
• Provide follow-up care and continuity planning for impacted employees
• Run group psychoeducation sessions on reactions to trauma, loss and stress
• Alongside onsite and CIR work, may contribute to EAP counselling, wellbeing initiatives and occasional assessment work

Required profile

• A psychologist registered with AHPRA (General Registration), with no conditions or reprimands; a provisional psychologist nearing General Registration may be considered
• Comfortable working with trauma, distress or acute presentations, and able to stay grounded and communicate clearly under pressure
• Able to deliver pre-prepared psychoeducation presentations to large groups
• Able to work in remote, regional locations by flight or drive, often requiring an overnight stay
• Full Australian working rights and ability to obtain a National Police Check
• Current driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
