Registered Nurse - Mary Coram Unit

About the role

Goulburn Valley Health is seeking Registered Nurses to join its Mary Coram Unit, a 40-bed subacute unit in Shepparton. The unit provides rehabilitation, geriatric evaluation and management, and palliative care. The position is permanent part-time, with 152 hours per fortnight across multiple openings, and is open to external applicants.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality, comprehensive care within patient-centred and evidence-based frameworks.
• Work with the multidisciplinary team, based in the unit, to deliver therapy in indoor and outdoor treatment areas.
• Collaborate with patients and families to implement goal-oriented therapy that improves function, maximises independence and optimises quality of life.
• Care for patients with stroke and neurological diagnoses, orthopaedic fractures or replacements, deconditioning after illness, surgery or trauma, and complex age-related conditions such as falls, reduced mobility, cognitive impairment and chronic pain.
• Provide inpatient palliative care, symptom management, emotional, psychological and cultural support, family support, discharge referrals and end-of-life care.

Required profile
