Registered Nurse - Emergency Medicine, Gympie

About the role

Sunshine Coast Health is recruiting a Registered Nurse for its Department of Emergency Medicine at Gympie Hospital. The department provides a non-discretionary 24-hour emergency service for adults and children, giving initial treatment and definitive care for many presentations, and resuscitation and stabilisation before transfer when needed. It also provides nursing care to the inpatient area co-located with the short-stay unit. The position is permanent part-time, 72 hours per fortnight, at Nurse Grade 5.

Key responsibilities

• Follow defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures to deliver high-quality, safe services and workplaces.
• Carry out the role in line with the Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) Schedule 2, Generic Level Statements for Nurse Grade 5, and the Queensland Public Service values.
• Take responsibility for safety and quality in healthcare, take part in continuous quality and safety improvement, and report concerns about workplace or patient safety to a responsible officer.
• Practice according to the code of ethics, professional standards and legislation, keeping current knowledge and competence within the scope of the position.
