Registered Nurse - Coronary Care Unit (Targeted)

About the role

John Hunter Hospital is recruiting a Registered Nurse for its 8-bed Coronary Care Unit in New Lambton. The unit cares for patients with acute and complex cardiac conditions, and the nurse works alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team. The position is temporary part time, 24 hours per week, until December 2027, and is targeted to Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centred cardiac nursing care.
• Support patients undergoing advanced cardiac interventions, including TAVI.
• Assess and manage patients with complex cardiac conditions.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to achieve positive patient outcomes.

Required profile

• Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Motivated, adaptable nurse who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Previous experience in cardiac nursing or critical care is highly desirable.
• Strong clinical judgement, effective communication and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
• Willingness to learn and grow in cardiology.
