Registered Nurse - Casual Aged Care

About the role

Aegis Carrington, a residential aged care facility in Hamilton Hill, is looking for a Registered Nurse to join its team on a casual basis. The role sits within a friendly, diverse team and offers the chance to move to part-time employment in the future.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake clinical, social and self-care assessments, anticipating residents' changing health needs and initiating further assessments or referrals.
• Support residents and their families by addressing their queries, comments, suggestions and concerns.
• Ensure care documentation is completed and that the appropriate strategies are implemented.
• Identify and manage clinical risk in the aged care setting.
• Support, coach, monitor and mentor unregulated care workers, care and lifestyle staff.
• Provide support to the Clinical Nurse Manager and share clinical expertise with the care team.

Required profile

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Clinical experience and ability to manage risk in aged care.
• Sound understanding of Aged Care Quality Standards and quality management systems.
• Full Australian working rights and ability to pass a national police clearance.
• Commitment and passion for aged care, with the ability to inspire trust and lead, coach, develop and mentor care staff.
