Regional Fleet and Transport Manager

About the role

This senior, Sydney‑based position leads a national student transport function across Australia. Reporting to a senior operations executive, you will drive a transformation agenda to make fleet and transport operations safer, more compliant, cost‑effective and data‑driven.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a national fleet and student transport strategy.
• Establish consistent standards, accountabilities and escalation pathways across all sites.
• Oversee fleet lifecycle planning, including procurement, leasing, maintenance, replacement and disposal.
• Strengthen compliance with HVNL, Chain of Responsibility, WHS and duty‑of‑care obligations.
• Lead safety programmes covering drivers, volunteers, fatigue, licensing, vehicle inspections and incident management.
• Manage supplier contracts, service performance and value‑for‑money outcomes.
• Own transport systems, telematics, fleet data and reporting.
• Translate large data sets into actionable insights to improve safety, cost, utilisation and risk.

Required profile

• Extensive leadership experience in bus, coach, passenger or school transport environments.
• Proven ability to implement governance, safety and commercial discipline in multi‑site operations.
• Strong stakeholder management skills across operational, executive and site teams.
• Commercial acumen in budgeting, procurement and contract management.
