Regional Defence Technician

About the role

Telstra is hiring a Regional Defence Technician in Darwin. The role works without immediate supervision, covering end-to-end advanced activation and assurance functions aligned with current and future technology products and services. It also involves going to the customer's site to handle incidents, service requests and project tasks related to the customer's ICT environment.

Key responsibilities

• Actively seek and support the regional defence team on issues and opportunities
• Work on the customer's ICT environment, including Defence's Juniper ICT network, wireless technology, Skype for Business voice, video conferencing and passive infrastructure (fibre and copper)
• Manage workload in the customer services management tool to meet SLAs, and resolve incidents and deliver service requests within SLAs
• Update documentation such as cable solves and MDF record books during changes
• Maintain and report on the security of the ICT environment
• Provide weekly reporting or escalation to the Delivery Manager
• Contribute to and maintain technical and procedural documentation

Required profile

• Australian citizenship
• Minimum NV1 AGSVA security clearance, with a Negative Vetting 2 (NV2) clearance held and maintained
• High degree of customer management skills
• Experience managing conflicting demands and proven ability to act in a Program Manager capacity (desirable)
