Recycling Hand – Material Sorting at Recycling Plant

About the role
Re.Group is an Australian owned company dedicated to turning waste into reusable resources. Their Material Recovery Facilities (MRF) process incoming recycling bins and rely on hands‑on workers to separate the material streams. As a Recycling Hand you will play a direct part in creating a wasteless society by sorting recyclables on the plant floor. The company collaborates with charities, private organisations and government to benefit local communities. This role offers the chance to contribute directly to environmental sustainability.
Key responsibilities
- Sort recyclable materials from a moving conveyor belt into the correct streams.
- Check each item and separate it by type, size, condition or colour into designated areas.
- Remove waste that could damage plant equipment or the final product.
- Place sorted materials into the appropriate containers to support downstream processing.
- Maintain awareness of material flow to prevent cross‑contamination.
- Report any system problems or equipment issues immediately to management.
