Recruiter – Underground Mining Talent Acquisition

About the role

Byrnecut Group is seeking a proactive Recruiter to connect skilled professionals with underground mining opportunities across Australia and internationally. Reporting to the Australian Lead, you will partner with operational leaders to source, assess, and secure talent for critical roles on our mining sites.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain strong relationships with site stakeholders to align recruitment with mobilisation schedules and production needs.
• Provide practical recruitment advice based on labour market conditions, talent availability and lead times.
• Lead proactive sourcing strategies and build talent pipelines for roles such as underground mining, maintenance, electrical and technical services.
• Design and deliver targeted recruitment campaigns aligned to workforce plans and project ramp‑ups.
• Utilise multiple sourcing channels including advertising, referrals, direct sourcing, talent communities and industry engagement.
• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment processes from requisition through offer acceptance, including screening, interviewing and reference checking.
• Track and report on recruitment activity, pipeline health and progress against targets.
• Identify and implement improvements to recruitment efficiency and candidate experience.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in end‑to‑end recruitment or talent acquisition, preferably within a blue‑collar or underground mining environment.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across all organisational levels.
• Ability to source talent in competitive labour markets and manage multiple vacancies simultaneously.
• Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Experience producing regular recruitment reporting for data‑driven decision making.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and recruitment technologies.
