R&D Tax Analyst / Senior Analyst

About the role

Vincents is hiring an R&D Tax Analyst or Senior Analyst to help businesses access the Australian R&D Tax Incentive. You will work with a diverse range of clients, combining analytical thinking, technical research and client engagement to turn complex technical and financial information into meaningful outcomes. The role suits an analyst building expertise or a senior analyst ready to take greater ownership of client engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Work with clients and colleagues to understand their operations and R&D activities and how they may align with the R&D Tax Incentive requirements.
• Prepare clear, accurate and well-supported R&D project descriptions, reports and claim documentation.
• Engage with clients to understand their projects, technical activities, objectives and supporting evidence.
• Review technical documentation and financial information to identify potentially eligible R&D activities and expenditure.
• Research legislation, regulatory guidance and industry developments to support sound technical advice.
• Identify documentation gaps, potential risks and compliance considerations, and help develop practical solutions.
• Collaborate with colleagues across Tax, Advisory and other service lines to deliver client outcomes.

Required profile

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Experience preparing or supporting Australian R&D Tax Incentive claims, interpreting tax legislation, analysing project expenditure or working with clients in technology, engineering, manufacturing, software or life sciences is advantageous.
• Curious, analytical and willing to learn, able to turn complex information into clear, practical outcomes.
