Rangers Assistant (Kalbarri)

About the role

The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) is seeking a Rangers Assistant to support the management of Kalbarri National Park. This permanent, full‑time role involves hands‑on maintenance of park facilities and direct interaction with visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and service visitor facilities such as toilets, car parks, trails and recreation areas.
• Assist with visitor control, interpretive programs, fire management and conservation projects.
• Carry out weed and feral‑animal control, pruning and basic outdoor construction tasks.
• Support the development of new recreational facilities and implement works programs in line with departmental policies.

Required profile

• Ability to perform manual activities related to cleaning, maintenance and construction of park infrastructure.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, 4WD vehicles and small engines.
• Understanding of work health and safety procedures and willingness to wear prescribed PPE.
• Current ‘C’ class driver’s licence (or ability to obtain within a suitable timeframe).

• Permanent full‑time position (Grade RA1) with salary $54,710 – $60,541 per annum.
