Quarry Supervisor

About the role

Heidelberg Materials is recruiting a Quarry Supervisor for its East Guyong Quarry, located about halfway between Orange and Bathurst on the Mitchell Highway. Reporting to the Quarry Manager, you will oversee daily quarry operations, ensuring efficient production, safety compliance and optimal use of resources.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise all aspects of quarry operations, including drilling, blasting, excavation, crushing and screening.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Develop and implement production plans to meet output targets and quality specifications.
• Monitor and optimise equipment performance, ensuring regular maintenance and repairs.
• Lead, train and manage quarry personnel, and conduct regular site inspections to identify and mitigate hazards.
• Maintain accurate production records, inventory levels and operational reports.
• Collaborate with quality control, logistics and other departments, and implement cost-effective strategies to reduce operational expenses.
• Respond to and resolve operational issues and emergencies efficiently.

Required profile

• Proven experience in quarry operations, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role.
• In-depth knowledge of quarrying techniques, equipment and safety procedures.
• Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental regulations relevant to the mining industry.
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to plan, organise and prioritise.
• Valid driver's licence and relevant heavy equipment certifications.
• Relevant degree or vocational qualification in mining, geology or a related field preferred.
