Quarry Operator – Byford Quarry

About the role

Based at Byford Quarry, 4 km south of Byford, this full‑time position starts at 6 am with 10‑plus hour shifts. You will join a stable, growing team that operates hard‑rock crushing and screening equipment for one of Australia’s leading building‑materials suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the crushing plant and associated machinery safely and efficiently.
• Conduct routine plant inspections and carry out preventative maintenance tasks.
• Assist with plant set‑up, calibration and shutdown procedures.
• Operate mobile plant – loader, articulated haul truck and skid steer – to support hard‑rock processing.
• Perform general labour and maintenance activities around the quarry as required.

Required profile

• Prior experience in fixed‑plant process operations, mobile crushing or screening operations.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and a proactive attitude toward plant maintenance.
• Competence in operating mobile equipment such as loaders, excavators and dump trucks.
• Positive, can‑do attitude and willingness to work safely in a team environment.
