Quality Engineer – Exploratory Testing

About the role

Nuix is seeking a curious, detail‑oriented Quality Engineer to join its exploratory testing practice. Working with a Senior QE, you will execute structured exploratory test sessions across the Nuix product portfolio, focusing on high‑risk areas.

Key responsibilities

• Execute structured exploratory test sessions using SBTM charters and heuristics.
• Prioritise cross‑product coverage based on risk, defect‑escape rates and release schedules.
• Document bugs, risks and observations in Jira with clear reproduction steps and severity assessments.
• Learn and use the QE tooling stack, including Postman, CI pipelines and Zephyr Scale.
• Contribute to smoke/sanity test suites and support test case creation.
• Participate in 3‑Amigos grooming/planning sessions to embed quality early in the SDLC.
• Track gaps in test coverage and feed findings into the QE Gap Analysis tracker.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in Quality Engineering, QA or software testing.
• Curiosity‑driven mindset with a habit of asking “what if…?”.
• Strong written communication skills for clear bug reporting.
• Eagerness to learn multiple products and domains quickly.

Required skills

• Basic automation skills in any language (scripting language).
• API testing fundamentals (Postman or similar).
• Experience with Jira or similar issue‑tracking tools.
• Familiarity with Zephyr Scale or other test‑case management tools.
• Awareness of CI/CD pipelines.
