Quality Control Officer

About the role

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Control Officer will monitor and maintain product quality and food safety standards across the production process in a fast‑paced food manufacturing environment. The role works closely with production, warehouse and technical teams to ensure compliance with specifications, regulations and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct quality checks and inspections of raw materials, in‑process production and finished goods.
• Monitor compliance with HACCP, food safety and quality management systems.
• Record and report quality data, non‑conformances and corrective actions.
• Support internal and external audits such as SQF, BRC or customer audits.
• Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Maintain accurate documentation and traceability records.
• Assist with product testing, sampling and shelf‑life trials as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in Quality Control, Quality Assurance or Food Technology within food manufacturing.
• Solid understanding of HACCP, food safety principles and quality management systems.
• Experience supporting audits (SQF, BRC or similar) is highly regarded.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical, hands‑on approach to problem‑solving.
• Good communication skills and ability to work closely with production and technical teams.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with some flexibility around shift times.
• Relevant qualifications in Food Science, Food Technology or a related field are desirable but not essential.
