Quality Assurance Officer

About the role

BioMar Australia is looking for a Quality Assurance Officer to join its Quality team at the Wesley Vale facility. This is a hands-on role supporting the day-to-day delivery of quality assurance across manufacturing operations, working closely with the Quality Assurance Supervisor, Laboratory Technical Specialist and operational teams to investigate quality issues, support routine laboratory testing, manage samples and quality data, and help ensure products meet customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Support production and raw material quality investigations
• Carry out routine laboratory testing and analysis
• Manage retained samples and their records
• Support reject and quarantine controls
• Prepare and dispatch samples for external laboratory testing
• Record, collate and maintain accurate quality data
• Support internal audits and site reviews
• Help maintain practical quality processes for a 24/7 operation and identify ways to improve how work is done

Required profile

• Diploma-level qualification in Science, Laboratory Technology, Quality, Food Technology or a related discipline (mandatory minimum); a relevant Bachelor's degree is highly regarded
• At least 2 years' experience in quality assurance, laboratory testing, food/feed manufacturing or another regulated environment
• Experience in food, feed, aquaculture or manufacturing is highly regarded, but transferable quality and laboratory experience is also welcome
• Strong attention to detail and confidence working with data and records
• A self-starter who takes ownership, stays composed under pressure, works collaboratively and escalates concerns
