Quality Assurance Lead

About the role

ASC, Australia's submarine company, is looking for a Quality Assurance Lead to lead quality assurance and compliance activities, support continual improvement and audit processes, and work with stakeholders to achieve quality standards across the organisation. The role suits a career in a complex, highly regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation and continual improvement of quality assurance processes, systems and frameworks across the organisation.
• Take part in internal audit programmes and help maintain organisational certifications and compliance obligations.
• Lead and facilitate quality investigations, corrective actions and continual improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical advice on quality management, regulatory compliance and contractual requirements.
• Support the development and implementation of the Integrated Management System.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including industry partners, to meet quality objectives and compliance requirements.
• Coach, mentor and uplift capability across quality teams and wider business functions.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Quality Management, Engineering, Science or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in quality assurance management, auditing or compliance roles.
• Experience developing and implementing quality processes to meet requirements.
• Lead Auditor qualification and experience conducting internal and third-party audits within integrated management systems.
• Experience leading investigations, corrective actions and process improvement initiatives with measurable outcomes.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
• Eligibility depends on a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance; applicants from certain countries may not be eligible because the role involves access to protected US defence technology.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of quality management systems, quality assurance methodologies and industry standards including ISO 9001.
• Experience applying quality processes to meet requirements.
