Quality Assurance Coordinator

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on, detail‑focused Quality Assurance Coordinator to support our Sydney cheese manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will help maintain and improve the site’s food safety and quality systems, ensuring our specialty cheeses consistently meet high standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day implementation and maintenance of HACCP and GFSI‑based food safety and quality management systems (SQF or BRC).
• Conduct routine quality checks, product inspections and environmental monitoring across production and packaging lines.
• Maintain accurate quality records, documentation and traceability in line with regulatory and customer requirements.
• Assist in coordinating internal, customer and third‑party audits and support the close‑out of corrective actions.
• Investigate non‑conformances, customer complaints and quality incidents, contributing to root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Monitor compliance with allergen management, labelling and specification requirements.
• Work closely with production teams to reinforce a strong food safety culture on the shop floor.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a quality assurance or food safety role within food or dairy manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of HACCP and recognised food safety standards such as SQF, BRC or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail and disciplined record‑keeping.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with production staff and auditors.
• A tertiary qualification in food science, food technology or a related discipline is highly regarded.
