Qualified Activity Facilitator (Leisure Attendant)

About the role

Christian Youth Camps of South Australia (CYC) is looking for a casual Qualified Activity Facilitator (also called Leisure Attendant) at its El Shaddai campsite in Wellington, SA. The role provides fun and safe experiences for customers on outdoor activities such as artificial rock climbing, canoeing, archery and laser tag. The position starts on 19 January 2026, reports to the Adventure Outlook Coordinator and Executive Officer, and is paid under the Hospitality Award General 2010.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high-quality customer service while leading outdoor activities.
• Follow procedures and guidelines so that safety requirements and duty of care are met.
• Assist with planning and implementing activities and programs.
• Keep accurate records and meet health and safety requirements.
• Manage small groups so everyone has an excellent experience.
• Stay up to date with standard operating procedures.

Required profile

• Qualification in artificial rock climbing, canoeing or archery; extra in-house training is provided.
• Other qualifications in outdoor recreation and leadership are desirable.
• A committed Christian and active member of a church, acting as a role model and committed to the camp's Christian perspective.
• Ability to work in a team, show resilience and initiative, and accept direction and supervision.
• Must pass a Working With Children Check, agree to the organisation's Code of Conduct and complete Child Safe Training.

Required skills

• Proven ability to lead a group and facilitate activities.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Current SA driver's licence.
• Ability to perform physical tasks safely.
