QC Associate - Sample Management

About the role

Randstad is supporting a global pharma and biotech client with an emerging Australian presence, recruiting Quality Control Associates for its Melbourne team. The role is based at the client's Clayton manufacturing facility and supports GMP manufacturing operations through sample management, stability study coordination and day-to-day laboratory support. It is a full-time, 100% onsite position, Monday to Friday, on either the morning (6am–2pm) or afternoon (2pm–10pm) shift.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, aliquote, store, distribute and ship samples according to approved procedures and GMP requirements.
• Aliquote samples in biological safety cabinets using aseptic techniques to protect sample integrity.
• Maintain sample traceability and chain of custody, keeping accurate, contemporaneous records in the LIMS.
• Coordinate stability sample pulls and create and maintain stability studies in LIMS, including scheduling, tracking and data management.
• Monitor controlled-temperature storage units, responding to alarms, escalating issues and troubleshooting.
• Manage laboratory inventory, including procurement and replenishment of reagents, solvents and consumables.
• Support laboratory operations such as glassware washing, cleaning and routine equipment maintenance.
• Work in line with cGMP, GDP, data integrity principles and laboratory safety, and collaborate with Quality Control and Manufacturing teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
• 2+ years of experience in a cGMP laboratory environment preferred; the client also accepts candidates with 2-5 years of previous experience in the field.
• Ability to work onsite, as the role is fully onsite.
