Purchasing Officer

About the role

We are looking for a highly organised and detail‑oriented Purchasing Officer to support procurement and purchasing activities across Ark Energy. Reporting to the Financial Controller and working closely with the Procurement Manager, you will help ensure efficient delivery of business and project outcomes through effective purchasing, supplier coordination and procurement administration.

Key responsibilities

• Process purchase orders in line with approved budgets, procurement policies and delegated authority.
• Coordinate purchasing activities from requisition through to delivery and completion.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations and support tender and quotation processes.
• Assist with supplier onboarding, contract administration and maintain procurement records.
• Maintain effective relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and resolve issues.
• Monitor supplier performance and escalate service, quality or delivery concerns as needed.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, approval frameworks and company procedures.
• Maintain accurate purchasing, procurement and spend records for reporting and audit purposes.
• Support budget monitoring by identifying exceptions or variances in purchasing activity.
• Liaise with finance, project teams and operational stakeholders to resolve purchasing and supplier‑related queries.
• Collect procurement data and prepare reports, analyses and recommendations.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives that enhance procurement efficiency and value‑for‑money outcomes.
