Purchasing Officer

About the role

Join dnata catering & retail’s dynamic team at Sydney Airport as a Purchasing Officer. You will be responsible for sourcing, receiving and managing stock to support fast‑paced catering operations while upholding the highest food safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Create and manage purchase orders, maintaining strong supplier relationships.
• Coordinate deliveries with production and kitchen teams to ensure timely supply.
• Monitor stock levels, rotation, storage conditions and track expiry dates.
• Conduct regular stocktakes, maintain accurate inventory records and resolve delivery discrepancies.
• Ensure all goods comply with HACCP, QSAI and WHS safety standards.
• Maintain clean, organised storage areas and support cost‑effective purchasing initiatives.

Required profile

• Previous experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain, preferably in food service or airline catering.
• Strong attention to detail, time‑management skills and ability to work across multiple departments.
• Confident user of ERP systems and Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
• Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, QSAI, WHS) is highly regarded.
