Purchasing Officer

About the role

Join Australia’s leading inflight catering and retail partner as a Purchasing Officer in the Sydney Airport catering unit. You will support the Purchasing Manager by managing the purchase, receipt and issue of materials to ensure production runs smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Manage stock across onsite and offsite storage, ensuring proper product rotation and space availability.
• Process deliveries in line with the company purchase system and temperature/hygiene guidelines.
• Monitor inventory for best‑before and use‑by dates and conduct monthly stock takes.
• Ensure delivery vehicles are clean and appropriate for perishable goods.
• Provide feedback on procurement procedures and suggest improvements.

Required profile

• Experience in purchasing, stores or inventory within a supply‑chain environment.
• Familiarity with an ERP system (highly regarded).
• High attention to detail, strong time‑management and multitasking abilities.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to obtain a clear National Police Check and a forklift licence (or obtain within 3 months).

• Understanding of QSAI requirements
