About the role
Join Sorbent Paper Company's supply chain team as a Purchasing and Imports Officer. Reporting to the Import Manager, you will optimise purchasing schedules and manage the flow of finished goods and raw materials to meet customer demand efficiently and on time.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and monitor stock levels of finished goods and raw materials across distribution centres.
- Process purchase orders, maintain minimum stock levels, and manage consumable inventories to control costs.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, warehouses, 3PL providers and customers to schedule container deliveries and oversee loading/unloading.
- Check duty charges, manage broker/classifier queries, and ensure compliance with import regulations.
- Generate and deliver regular reports on shipping ETA, KPI performance and other supply‑chain metrics.
- Maintain accurate shipping records, tracking information and documentation.
Required profile
- Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience working with databases, generating reports and handling import logistics.
- Proven experience with SAP (mandatory) and intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience in ocean freight forwarding and direct importing is desirable.
