Psychology Internship Supervisor (Remote)

About the role

MindSpot Academy, part of Macquarie University Health, is seeking experienced, Board-approved supervising psychologists to provide AHPRA-compliant supervision, assessment training and placement support to Provisional Psychologist Interns completing the 5+1 internship. The position is fully remote with a laptop provided, and there are multiple openings totalling 1.8 FTE, open to full-time, 0.8 FTE (four days per week) or 0.6 FTE (three days per week) arrangements. It is a fixed-term appointment until 30 June 2028, with possible renewal from January 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Provide AHPRA-compliant clinical supervision (principal and/or secondary, individual and/or group) and training aligned with the 5+1 internship learning objectives and core competencies.
• Supervise and train interns in administering, interpreting and reporting diagnostic, cognitive and memory assessments.
• Support internship placements, including induction, reporting, offboarding and coordination with universities, education providers and healthcare providers.
• Assess intern skills against the Core Competencies through observation of clinical work, give learner-focused feedback and development plans.
• Contribute to developing and reviewing the internship training, supervision systems, workshops and supervision evaluation processes.
• Provide internship-related consultation to internal and external stakeholders and informal mentoring to MindSpot staff.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in psychology and current AHPRA registration as a psychologist, with Board-approved eligibility to principally supervise 5+1 interns.
• At least five years of clinical experience delivering evidence-based mental health interventions and psychology assessments across diverse populations and treatment modalities.
• At least two years of AHPRA-compliant supervision experience with Provisional Psychologists on an internship pathway.
• Demonstrated expertise in supervising and training psychology assessments, including diagnostic, cognitive and memory assessments; experience with autism assessment is highly regarded.
• Proven ability to engage and develop supervisees through diverse approaches, supported by formative feedback and review.
• High-level knowledge of the 5+1 Internship Guidelines, Supervision Guidelines, Code of Conduct for Psychologists and Core Competencies, and commitment to ongoing supervision development.
