Property Accountant

About the role

A well-established property group with a significant commercial property portfolio is seeking a Property Accountant to join its finance team in Brisbane. The role is broad and hands-on, working closely with Property Managers, Leasing Managers and senior stakeholders, and takes responsibility for the financial performance and reporting of a retail-focused property portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting
• Manage property accounting, reporting and reconciliations
• Oversee tenant billings, receipting and rent roll reviews
• Partner with Property Managers on reporting, budgeting and forecasting
• Prepare annual budgets, outgoings estimates and outgoings reconciliations
• Assist with audits, board reporting and ad hoc analysis
• Support acquisitions, disposals and valuation processes as required

Required profile

• Previous property accounting experience
• Experience interpreting leases and translating them into financial outcomes
• High attention to detail and a proactive approach
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• CA/CPA qualifications (completed or in progress) are highly regarded
• Correct working licence/visa required
